Dr. Scott worked as a pediatric nurse in medical/surgical and pediatric oncology areas.
For the past 20 years, Dr. Scott has been involved in the conduct of nursing research and currently has a large program of research called ECHO (translating Evidence into Child Health practice to enhance Outcomes). The research projects in Dr. Scott’s program reflect her belief of the importance of the best available research evidence informing children’s healthcare. Her research projects investigate the implementation of pediatric clinical pathways and guidelines. In 2010, Dr. Scott received prestigious Population Health Investigator Award from the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research and a New Investigator Award from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (2011).
