Red Wine Everyone Can Enjoy

If you’re looking for a fairly inexpensive wine that will please most, then try Ménage à Trois by Folie À Deux Winery.  It had been a couple of years since I had tried Ménage à Trois, but my website designer, Lauren Henry of Old Kinderhook, jogged my memory the other day.  Later, I was at Whole Foods and spotted a bottle for $9.99.  I thought I would give it another try.

Even if you’re a white wine drinker, this red is a good place to start. It blends Zinfandel, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon to make a pallet pleasing wine.  Your first taste will give you a hint of each wine – you can really taste the distinctions. However, if you let the wine breath, the overall effect mellows out. It has a nice fruity taste with hints of berry without being too sweet. The oakiness is light and not overwhelming for even inexperienced red wine drinkers. It pairs well with steak or grilled meats.  If you’re clueless about what to take to a dinner party, this is a wine that is sure to please – not to mention a great conversation starter!

Nutrition Analysis: Estimate for around 125 calories per 5oz glass of red wine. Remember, the usual recommendation is up to one glass a day for women or up to two glasses for men.
